My last post was how the Advent Horizon album release looked. This one (with a big chunk of the song "Animals") is how it felt.

After Sindar played, it was time for Advent Horizon to blow the doors off. Huge thanks to Jason Knoell for leading the physical build of the lighting design I handed him - and the realtime operation of all my programming. A very important mention is also due to our fantastic hands from Davis Catalyst, who got us loaded in and set up as fast as I think it's ever happened.

Much appreciation to The Pearl On Main for letting us do all of the crazy things in your room, and also to Jeremy from Beehive Sound for holding it all down on stage so that I could focus on the goings-on upstairs.

Also, for the record, SemanticDMX did NOT crash during the show, but the remote-operation Wifi router did get rather upset during Advent's first song. It hummed along happily after a reboot.

The day we've been waiting months for finally arrived! It began with building and tweaking a light rig, and then really got moving with Sindar's opening set.

Thanks to Davis Catalyst for letting us use the multipurpose room for a tech day. The build for the actual show would have been much harder otherwise.

This one featured my first use of SDR++ in the field for RF monitoring, and a struggle with lavaliere mics that might have been self-inflicted. I might talk about that one later. Or I might not.

Anyway, this was Modern Retrospect show call 32 for me.

I've been using SemanticDMX extensively for a while, but it hasn't truly been in someone else's hands for them to use independently until now.

So, cheers to The Pearl on Main in Midvale! I hope you like your new lighting computer. :)
