In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Waterworks Visual Arts Center is proud to present an exhibition celebrating Hispanic art, culture, and creativity.
Featuring artwork created by talented young artists from Rowan-Salisbury Schools, this special exhibition offers a glimpse into the ideas, perspectives, and creativity of our community’s students.

The exhibition will be on view September 23 through October 31.

Join us for the Open Reception on October 13 from 5:00–6:00 PM and come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month through the eyes of these young artists!

"September 11, 2001" by Cara J. Reische 🇺🇸

"September 11, 2001" was painted in honor of those who lost their lives through the catastrophic acts of terrorism in New York City and Washington D.C. 🗽

Two candles representing the World Trade Towers are lit, shedding their light on "The Big Apple" and the rest of the world. 🍎🌎

May the light that shines from them not be the heat of fire, but the warmth of a rekindled Home. 🏠👪

⭐️Art Event Tonight!⭐️

🎨Regional Artist John Cahoon will be hosting a pop-up exhibit outside FFG tonight from 5-7 pm (Salisbury Art Walk)

🎨John Cahoon is an illustrator and artist from Winston-Salem North Carolina. He has created a world of fairy delights with “A Fairy Field Guide” to the Fairy World. Magical greeting cards. Wood cookie Fairy Spirit animals. Cute eclectic sculptures and jewelry for the young at heart.

🎨"This series of paintings comes from my mother’s request for a painting of a black bird with yellow boots. It allowed me to play with my love of whimsical themes and the use of negative space to accentuate the subject. The smiles the paintings bring at my live shows makes them a joy to paint." -JC

This week's Friday favorite is this adorable mini bud vase created by our August featured artist, Sylvia Coppola!

"This would look so cute with some wild yard flowers! I'd put in clovers, daisies and buttercups I think."
