This past Saturday some of our ERHS choir students traveled down to Queens University of Charlotte to participate in NC ACDA’s NC Sings clinic! The students worked hard all through the morning and put on a wonderful concert that afternoon under the amazing direction of Dr. Julie Yu, the director of choirs at Oklahoma City University!

Well it's been quite the busy week here with our Mustang Chorale (honors choir) students! Between recording and submitting auditions for National ACDA Honor Choirs, and then traveling yesterday to North Carolina Music Educators Association honor choir auditions in Hickory, NC, these students have been putting in the hours.

These troopers were at the school a little after 5AM where we then traveled to West Rowan High School to warm up and sing with Mr. Davis and his singers before traveling together to the auditions.

We are so proud of our Chorale students and the hard work they put in to prepare for these auditions!

It's that time of the year, our Spring Concert is here! Come out tomorrow night at 7pm and hear our combo concert with the Erwin Middle School 8th Grade honors chorus!

In spite of the rain and the mugginess, we had a great time this past Wednesday touring the campus of UNC and learning about the various elements of college life. We also really enjoyed singing for the Carolina Choir, led by professor Susan Klebanow; and then getting to watch and hear them rehearse for their upcoming concert!

We have 1 week left on our fundraiser, and we're a little under halfway to our goal! A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, but we still have a ways to go. These students worked hard and had a great Friday singing under Dr. Phillip Burgess alongside fellow students from across the district for our All-County chorus! They worked so hard, and performed a beautiful concert Friday evening! Way to sing your hearts out friends!

Good morning everyone! Yesterday the East Rowan Choirs kicked off our Vertical Raise fundraiser! Please click on the link and check our fundraiser page!

The funds raised help us to recuperate costs for the needs of the choir, and future traditions that your donations are working towards helping us establish. Some examples are:

* New dresses and tuxes for our singers!

* Choir T-Shirts

* New music, (copies of music can be quite expensive)

* Registration and transportation costs for honor choir events!
If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram, you may have seen some examples of these events (such as when we went to Duke University, or when one of our singers participated in a National Honor Choir in Louisville, KY)

* Future trips and competitions, (such as a Carowinds trip next year; or perhaps a Universal or Disney trip in two years; or possibly even an International trip in years to come)!

* End of the year Choir banquet

The students have already been sharing and advertising, and you may have already received some messages about the fundraiser from them. Even if you're unable to donate, just sharing our fundraiser with people you know and on your own social media will go a long way towards helping us reach our goals!

These singers have worked so hard, and this morning they got to show off the results of their hard work! Today the ERHS Mustang Chorale (honors choir) traveled to Wingate University to participate in the North Carolina Music Performance Adjudication (MPA). The ensemble received an Excellent rating in both their performance and in Sight-Reading, (with the sight-reading being only three points shy of a Superior)!! Please help us congratulate them on a job well done!

We are so thankful for Dr. Jason Bishop and The Laurentian Singers from St. Lawrence University for performing for our ERHS choir students; and giving us an opportunity to perform for an audience before we head to MPA on Monday! The students enjoyed listening to you make beautiful music together, and enjoyed getting to have a conversation with you all about what college is like! Safe travels back to NY!
