This year, I have been afforded the opportunity to serve as the Pageant Director for the Eastern Shore AFRAM Festival 2026 Miss & Mister AFRAM Pageant, and we are officially searching for contestants!

Does your child have a big personality the world needs to see? Does your child walk with confidence, creativity, and charm? Can your child think quickly on their feet and turn an ordinary moment into one worth capturing?

Then this is their opportunity!

We are looking for young girls and boys who are ready to shine, have fun, and experience the beauty of pageantry in a welcoming, professional, and exciting environment.
I have been blessed to recruit some of the greatest judges, hosts, and co-hosts on the Shore to help create a memorable experience for every contestant. And to make it even more special, every participant, whether they win or not, will receive a thank-you bag courtesy of Five Below.

Your child will experience the luxury of pageantry for a fraction of the cost. Registration is only $25…and we will do the rest!

This weekend, the passion of performing arts met the world of fashion as Heart & Sole Performing Arts traveled to Hampton, VA for the Rest & Reign Modeling Showcase.

Our team was honored to bring the energy, creativity, and confidence that define Heart & Sole to a stage where fashion and self-expression took center stage. It was a reminder that whether through movement, stepping, dance, or the runway, the goal remains the same…to empower people to walk boldly in who they are.

A special thank you to Erica Conwell, CEO of Rest & Reign, for the invitation and for creating a space where artistry and fashion could come together. The connections made, relationships built, and opportunities created throughout the weekend made this experience even more meaningful.

When passion meets fashion, something special happens and this weekend was proof of that.

Today, I am honored to have been recognized as the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration’s Employee of the Year for 2025. (Still in tears)

This award represents so much more than my work within the agency. It is an acknowledgment of a life dedicated to service both inside and outside of the workplace. From mentoring and empowering youth through Heart & Sole Performing Arts, to serving my community as 2026 Ms. Corporate America-Salisbury, MD, to being recognized for impact on local, national, and international platforms, every effort has been birthed with one purpose in mind: making a difference.

I’ve often say that I was a queen long before I wore a crown. For me, a crown has never been about status it has always been about service, sacrifice, leadership, and the responsibility to uplift others.

The Bible teaches us that we shall receive a crown when it is all over. While my work is far from over, this recognition feels like a reminder that the seeds I’ve planted, the lives I’ve touched, and the work I’ve poured my heart into have not gone unnoticed. The crown is not the reward itself…it is a symbol of the work, dedication, and purpose behind it.

I am grateful to my colleagues, my community, my village, and every young person/parent who has allowed me to be a part of their journey. The work continues. The mission remains. And I will keep doing the heart work with the hard work.
