Lots of warm sunshine for our first Family Picnic Day of the school year at Mission Park. I try to bring a lot of fun stuff so students can walk away with great memories of their school. Tricycle races and hula hoop contests seem to be the winning formula.

Beautiful low-key wedding at a private residence in Gilroy. This event required two audio systems; one for the ceremony and my main one for the reception. I hid my speakers behind their rose bushes because I think the last thing people want to see are the DJ’s ugly speakers in their wedding photos. Then I transmitted the music and the officiant’s mic wirelessly from a makeshift control board on the porch. I think it sounded great.

I doubt anyone is interested in this level of technical detail, but I’m always impressed when everything works properly. The takeaway from all this is yes, DJ Frank does weddings.

Honestly one of my dream jobs growing up as a kid in the 80s was Game Show Host. Every now and then, I get to live out that dream in a very small way by hosting Song Trivia, which I was happy to do for the families up at YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake last week. Song Trivia has quickly become one of our most popular games since MC Sean and I started playing it at school events three years ago.

First time ever doing a tricycle race right down the middle of Main Street! More importantly, my first time announcing our annual Kiddie Kapers Parade in Salinas. Thankfully I had a seasoned professional, Lupe Martinez to help me through it. Happy to be part of this great Salinas tradition!

Lots of promotions happening at Salinas-area schools! MC Hayden and I helped celebrate the 5th graders promoting from Spreckels School today. Song Trivia and Speed Racer Tricycle Races were their most requested games. What a great way to finish out the school year!

Back out at Toro Park School running audio for their annual Dance Festival! Hundreds of parents and family members turned out to support their students as they close out the school year. This year’s Dance Festival marks their 30th year.
