Salida Theater Project’s Spring production is Neil Simon’s "Barefoot in the Park." 🌸👣

This romantic comedy is filled with laughter, love and just enough chaos to keep you smiling and guessing. The heartwarming story of newlyweds shows that opposites do attract, but can they really make it work past the initial bloom of love?
Stay tuned to meet the cast! 🎭💘

And mark your calendar for performances at A Church on April 18, 19, 20, 24, 25 and 26.

Mike Broemmel’s Queen of the Painted Sisterhood, makes its international debut on March 9, 2PM at the Women’s Day Festival at A Church, 419 D St, Salida.

The play chronicles the life and times of Wild West madame Mattie Silks and explores themes of power, gender, and survival. It’s about a woman who refused to be confined by the expectations of her time. It also delves into the duality of the Wild West — a place of both opportunity and lawlessness — and how Mattie navigated that world with wit, grit, and determination.

Directed by Greg West, produced by Jennifer Dempsey, and featuring Aggie Alvez, the play travels to Northern Ireland later in the month where it will be performed for Belfast audiences.

Queen of the Painted Sisterhood is one of the featured performances of the Festival which also includes poetry, dance, music and a reprise of Jennifer Dempsey’s one-woman show, Something Great.

For a full lineup of the day, visit www.Coloradotints.com. Attend some or all the performances – YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE!

By donation, with all proceeds going to Planned Parenthood and The Alliance.

Many thanks to Colorado TINTS - theater in non traditional spaces and for bringing “Destination of My Own, The Story of Richard Durham” to Salida yesterday in celebration of Black History Month. Starring Buena Vista resident Eric Lee as the pioneering radio journalist who distinguished himself during a time when radio was all but closed to African Americans, the play began with an idea by Jennifer Dempsey and Denver playwright Mike Broemmel - Writer crafted it into a powerful story about an often-overlooked figure who fought for equality and representation of the contributions of a segment of society marginalized culturally and legally. Directed by Allen Lane, the production also included actor Bill Rogers as President Gerald Ford who officially recognized Black History Month in 1976. A big shout out to A Church for hosting this important event!
