This soft, dreamy Falkland wool is such a pleasure to spin!💕It’s squishy, light and makes a beautiful yarn. And one of my favorite things about a 3-ply is the bouncy roundness it creates, perfect for showing off knit stitches. This would be such a dream to hold with mohair in a project.😌🩷

I finished spinning and soaking Brighten My Day on Shaniko! 💕

This 4 oz braid became 299 yards of 3-ply handspun yarn. Brighten My Day is a variation of Gathering on Rambouillet, but with subtle blues in place of the mauve-purple tones.

I’ll be bringing this colorway to the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival over Halloween weekend. Can you tell I’m excited? 😆

A little handspun sweater update! 💕 I’m knitting Spacetime by Heidi Kirrmaier | Knitting Patterns with the handspun yarn from the combo spin I recently shared. The yoke is finished, I’ve separated for the sleeves, and I’m loving how these colors are knitting up! My handspun is giving me about 24 stitches per 4 inches on 3.5 mm needles—slightly tighter gauge than recommended, but I think it will work out just fine.

The yarn is more variegated than I imagined, but I’m really enjoying how it’s coming together. I still have enough fiber to spin yarn for the sleeves, so I’ll cross that bridge when I get there! 😆
