The Salem Witchcraft & Folklore Festival is a weekend-long online event held August 3rd-6th. All classes and events are Livestreamed, *Recorded*, and available for viewing until the end of 2023. So if you're unable to attend the live class you can watch or rewatch any purchased events whenever you like. This festival is intended to create sacred space for the exploration, celebration, and acceptan

ce of Magical & Occult education, folklore, community, and activism an all spiritual traditions and levels of experience are welcome to participate.

​We are proud to feature classes and events from over 30 presenters who are leaders and rising voices in their fields. Our diversity of class offerings center around folk magical traditions, contemporary and traditional witchcraft practices, and folklore from around the world. And cover topics as varied as herbalism, astrology, spirit conjuration, divination, doll magic, ancestral veneration, magical activism, grimoire magic, and more. Attendees have three options for registering:
Full Pass - Allows access to all classes and panels
Day Pass - Allows access to all classes and panels from a selected day
Ala carte - Allows you to sign up for and access individual classes and panels

How to Move a Body: Energy Calisthenics for Grumpy Necromancers with Peter Josephson

This class approaches necromancy as an embodied practice and teaches a set of exercises for building muscles to be better spirit workers. They will lay a foundation both to be more effective in spirit conjuration itself, and in living a stable and grounded life in relation to spirits outside of conjuration.

There are a number of qualities that help support effective spirit communication and a balanced life as someone who traffics with spirits:

Grounding: Rooting yourself in the earth and in higher levels of being so that you can be fully present and draw on sources of power beyond yourself.

Boundaries: Clear and strong energetic boundaries protect you, and minimizes confusion between what spirits are saying and what you are thinking.

Clarity: Removing stagnant and discordant energy from your energy body that gets in the way of perceiving and interacting with spirits, and cleansing yourself after working with spirits to return to mundane reality.

Awareness: Increasing your sensitivity to non-physical realities.

Establishing Space: Establishing the space that you are working in as a container within which spirit contact is easier and more focused.

This class will be very light on theory, you will not need to learn the names of different chakras or abstract frameworks. Instead it will focus on practices that people with any level of experience working with energy can jump into and get going with.

This is a hands on class of energy exercises that create a foundation to be an effective and sane spirit worker.
