Northwest Monthly was born into the community by an idea from ThatKidCry, Ari Andrade, and Allene Lowsley. On November 6th, 2014, we threw the first monthly in what would be a long stretch of monthly shows to come. The music has been primarily HIP HOP but we've been known to bring in a Funk Band, Jazz/Blues singers, acoustic performers, and more! The show is all about bringing a variety of TALENT
to the local ears. We want our community to discover new things here in the Northwest. We want our community to experience intimate performances in a small bar setting so that they can get to know all of the artists and musicians who are working their hardest to be heard. Basically what happened is we got tired of seeing the same 3 shows over and over with the same ol' combinations of artists. There was no excuse to be doing this anymore when we knew so many talented people! I guess you can say we took control of our scene. Now, after a full year of doing shows and receiving continued praise from our local community, I'm positive that we're on the right track. I'm happy to say that we're consistently delivering GOOD MUSIC to our local listeners without any sign of stopping. October 23rd, 2015, marked the year anniversary of the showcase which only motivated us to keep this going even more, having put on 90+ different performers by this time in just a years time. THAT is what it's all about for us.
