Our Mission and Goal is to be a voice for the voiceless and to save a life … every single day
Our Vision for the project is:
1. Open The Moses Project Coffee House
2. Speak at local junior high and high school assemblies bringing life-giving messages regarding their purpose, identity, and value; and plant seeds of hope for the future to not give up
3. Organize street dance team clubs at each of the participating schools with weekly practices and encourage kids that all are welcome to join. Begin to teach street dance and indirectly mentor and encourage the kids on the dance teams
4. Form more intensive mentorship programs (similar to Big Brother Big Sister) where kids who are identified as needing more support can be encouraged to be part of and meet with their mentor one-on-one weekly
5. Create a safe and welcoming space at the coffee shop where kids feel loved, included, accepted and valued through conversation, food, music, art and creative classes and other activities on site
6. Organize a team of volunteers housed at the coffee shop who are solely present to be available if anybody needs someone to talk to, and to encourage people in general. The goal of these people would not be to interrupt group activities or conversations but to be aware as to anybody who may be isolated and to make contact with them to check in with them.
7. Establish free counseling services for those in our mentorship program and others as needed and referred
8. Work collaboratively and supportively with community programs already in place who have common goals.
Our goal is to save a life ... Every single day.
