Appreciation post!
As another production comes to a close, we want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who helped make Shrek the Musical a success.
To the audience - thank you for joining us this past weekend. We had a great turn-out and your laughter and applause meant the world wo our cast and crew.
To the parents and volunteers that worked backstage - thank you for your help wo keep our young performers entertained, organized and performance ready. Your support backstage was invaluable.
To the parents and volunteers that worked the tables - thank you for keeping everything running smoothly, from ticketing to flowers, photos and raffle baskets.
To our actors and crew - thank you for your patience, flexibility and determination. This was a week unlike any other that we have ever experienced. You adapted to major changes with professionalism and positivity. You proved that when a theatre family comes together, amazing things can happen.
To the costumers - thank you for your creativity and hard work in bringing characters to life. Your talent helped transform our stage into the world of Shrek.
To the set building and strike crew - thank you for giving up your valuable time on the weekends to build the world of Duloc and the swamp, and then for taking it all back down. The hard work is not seen by very many but it is the foundation of every production.
To the sponsors and patrons - thank you for believing in the arts and investing in community theatre. Your generosity helps ensure that live theatre continues to thrive in Washington County.
To the parents of the children ensemble - thank you for every trip to rehearsal, every ride home with the music playing over and over, every costume, every dance rehearsal at home, and for your patience during a very long tech week. We couldn't do this without your support.
To the directing/production staff - congratulations on a job well done! Thank you for your countless hours of planning, late nights, extra rehearsals, problem solving and yes...a little bit of stress. Your dedication made this production possible, and we're incredibly proud of what you accomplished.
Community theatre isn't just about the performances you see on stage. It's about people coming together, sharing their time and talents and creating something truly special.
