The 10,000 hour rule includes deliberate, focused practice and the time commitment.

Social media is an excellent resource, but watching it or being on it doesn’t take the place of many years of hard work, focus, and commitment. You don’t excel by talking about it, you excel by putting in the work.

Do you struggle with carving hair or want some new ideas on how to add flow and texture to your carvings? The Caricature Carvers of America will be releasing their new book “Splitting Hairs” at their competition on September 19-20, 2026. This will be the first opportunity for you to get your hands on the new book!

The competition is being held in conjunction with the Wisconsin River Woodcarvers show in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
