I decided to open Salem Ink to provide a friendly, professional and fun environment where people can come and get quality artwork. Over the years I have walked into many shops across the United States and had the displeasure of being treated unprofessionally. Often being ignored or having ideas made fun of, because the artist or artists felt like the work was beneath them. Many times I got the impression that if I was not willing to drop close to a grand on a large piece I was not worth their time. Once I started tattooing back in 2007 I realized many people had the same unpleasant experiences. So when I decided to open Salem Ink, I wanted to create a place where anyone would be comfortable getting work. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to do a large scale design or just looking to get something small for your first tattoo. Both you and your ideas will be treated with the highest level of respect and professionalism. We will always do our best to work with you and with your budget the best we can.

Hey Everyone! A PUBLIC SERVICE REMINDER!
Someone came in this morning and got scammed online using our name. They had someone pay up-front for a tattoo and took payment as a "guest artist". DO NOT and I mean NEVER pay upfront for ANYTHING without calling the shop (any shop) first. EVER. We DO NOT take anything but a $100 deposit EVER for either shop (Good Mojo included) and would never ask you to pay for a tattoo upfront. If someone asks for a Venmo or other payment method OTHER than a credit card, walk away. If someone has a high "non-refundable" deposit, walk away (we charge the $100 because missing an appointment screws over the artists since they block out the time). The $100 is the most you should ever be asked for and ALWAYS get a confirmation from the shop's email or desk and not some random email address. We feel bad for the person this happened to. It's tourist time, however, and the scammers will try to take advantage of you. So just always verify! Another reason to look up and touch base with a shop (like filling out one of our online forms).
