🎭SENIOR SPOTLIGHT🎭

Today we have Lorena Carmen Cruz Halse! Lorena has been in theater since her freshman year and is a five star thespian! She’s been an ensemble member for Descendants, Romeo and Juliet, and Little Shop of Horrors. She’s also played Marci and was an understudy for Shelly in Almost, Maine. This year she also played Gretchen in Mean Girls and Leanne in Puffs. Along with being an actor, she has competed in regionals every single year of high school! Her favorite memories are the backstage ones during shows and rehearsals and just laughing, joking, and talking to everyone. Her plans after high school are to go to Chemeketa for two years before transferring to a university for possibly teaching! We will miss you, Lorena!

Today we have Rubi Vargas! Rubi has been in theater since her sophomore year and is a newly inducted thespian! She has helped with the set design, lighting, props, and along with being a part of the running team for Mean Girls and Puffs this year. Her favorite memory is dancing with her friend Ella during “I See Stars” in Mean Girls. After high school, Rubi plans on doing a gap year and then getting a minor in theater. We will miss you, Rubi!

Today we have Jasmine Moreno Moreno! Jasmine has been in theater since her sophomore year and is a newly inducted thespian! She has played in Mean Girls as an ensemble member and has been in our student directed One Acts. After high school, Jasmine plans on going to OSU to major in psychology as well as following the pre med route, in order to become a surgical pediatrician. We will miss you, Jasmine!

Today we have Alexander Cisneros Moreno! Alex has been in theater since his sophomore year and is a newly inducted thespian! He has been an ensemble member in Little Shop of Horrors along with being a puppeteer for one of our Audrey Two puppets, and this year being Aaron in Mean Girls and Wayne in Puffs. She has been Katherine in our Student Directed One Acts, Glory and Rhonda in Almost, Maine, and finally Ms. Norbury in Mean Girls. Today, we have Jocelyn Gomez Tejeda! Jocelyn has been in theater since her freshman year, and is a one star thespian! She played Elsie in Calamityville Terror, An ensemble member in Mean Girls, and lastly Megan in Puffs. Her favorite theater memory was meeting her best friend Leah during Mean Girls auditions! They have been inseparable ever since. After high school, Jocelyn plans to attend the University of Portland for nursing and maybe a minor in theater. We will miss you, Jocelyn!

Today, we have Edgar Jaramillo Garibay! Edgar has been in theater since his sophomore year, and is a one star thespian! He has played a nurse in Romeo & Juliet, along with an ensemble member in Little Shop of Horrors. He has also supported us by being a part of the house crew for Almost, Maine and Mean Girls. After high school Edgar plans on attending Portland State University to major in mechanical engineering and get a minor in business administration. We will miss you, Edgar!

Today, we have Leah Rodriguez Garcia! Leah started in theater this year, and is a newly inducted thespian! She has been in Mean Girls as an ensemble member, and played Harry in our recent show, Puffs. Her favorite theater memory is the after show dinners. 🎭 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT🎭

Today, we have Niccole Melton! Nik has been in theater since their sophomore year and is a 1 star thespian! They have been on set design and part of the running team for Little Shop of Horrors, and have been an assistant stage manager for Almost, Maine and Mean Girls. Nik’s favorite memory in theatre is their first closing night for the production of Little Shop of Horrors. Seeing all of their hard work paying off, the walk through the theatre with their family and friends and the party after, they say the whole experience was just unforgettable. After high school, Nik plans to go to OSU for Veterinary Medicine/Science with the hope of getting their doctorate. We will miss you, Niccole!

We closed our production of Puffs last night! It was an evening of mixed emotions. Some students ending their Royal Scots Theatre journey, and some just starting out. This show also marks Torres' 20th main stage production at McKay! (And Ms. Wickham's first!)

It's a true honor to work with these incredible artists and storytellers. There is nothing better than coming together to create art on stage for others to experience with us. This process was full of silliness and laughter and it was exactly what we needed to end the 25-26 school year.

Already starting work on the next... 🐙🐠🦀🪸
