This next show opens in just 3️⃣1️⃣ days. Do you have your tickets yet?

This June, Fort Salem Theater presents “The Laramie Project,” a powerful and deeply moving documentary play created from real interviews and journal entries following the tragic murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming.

Performed by an incredible ensemble of local performers portraying dozens of real people, this groundbreaking work examines grief, compassion, intolerance, and the conversations that shape a community in the face of unimaginable tragedy. Honest, human, heartbreaking, and ultimately hopeful, “The Laramie Project” remains one of the most important American plays of our time.

This is not just a play to watch. It’s a play to experience.

Want to rock with us?!? We’re seeking a couple of guitarists to join our band for “Jagged Little Pill,” with music by Alanis Morissette.

Commitment is from Sitzprobe on July 11, tech rehearsals, plus three weekends of shows spanning July 13-August 2.

💵 Each musician receives a stipend of $40/call (a total of $560), and free tickets to invite friends and family to the show.

Our music director Matthew Durland is joining us from Michigan State, with stage direction by Ethan Shavelson, and a live onstage orchestra pit!

Some summer updates from Fort Salem Theater ☀️

As many of you know, Kyle West will be heading to Colorado for the summer to serve as Company Manager at Theatre Aspen, supporting productions including “Sylvia,” “A Chorus Line,” and “Grease.” While he’s away through September, Fort Salem Theater remains in very good hands.

Courtnie Harrington will once again step in as Interim Executive & Artistic Director, resuming the role she served so successfully last summer. From productions and operations to community events and day-to-day leadership, Courtnie will continue helping guide FST through a packed summer season.

We’re also thrilled to share that Susi Thomas has been elected Vice President of the Board of Directors. Her passion, energy, and dedication to Fort Salem Theater continue to make a tremendous impact. At the same time, we extend heartfelt thanks to Dennis Clark for five years of service and leadership on the board. We’re grateful for all he’s done for our theater and community.

The summer ahead is full of exciting things, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
