If the words “nymph,” “midge,” and “wooly booger” make you dream of casting into the cold Current River, you should consider learning the art of fly tying. Master fly-tyer, angler and sage of all things aquatic, Mark Van Patten will give fly-tying lessons at Ozark Craftworks, Aug. 20-22, at Timber Lodge in Shannon County, MO. Many other crafts will be taught, including basket-making, sourdough baking, wild food foraging, watercolor painting, wood carving, blacksmithing, and many more. Registration is only $50 for the three-day workshop, or you can attend one or two days for $20 each day. Meals and accommodations are available. You must be 14 years old or older to participate.
