I’ve gotten a few messages from people that weren’t there yesterday to enjoy the fun with us questioning the amounts wrote on the cardboard checks. We let the drivers put on there what they wanted as a way to have fun. We hope to see everyone there Sept 19th for another Fun filled afternoon of racing!!

Our next set of tires that was donated by Jim Butner Auto (Clarksville,IN) went to a Jr Beginner Champ Driver Joe. This young man went for a ride flipping over in turns 3/4 after making contact with another kart and losing a left from wheel completely from the kart, he landed upright and drove around to the start finish line as the red flag was thrown. When safety crews got to him to make sure he was ok his response was “ I’m good I’m not hurt, I saw the sky, the ground, and the sky.” He was checked out by our EMS/medics and was disappointed that he didn’t get to finish the race due to the kart only having 3 wheels. This is why we emphasize safety at The Salem Speedway this little guy will be ready to race again on Sept 19th. Congrats Joe and thank you to Jim Butner Auto!!

Yesterday we had a set of tires donated by Richie’s Body Shop in Jeffersonville, In. to the Jr1 Champ division. The winner received a cup trophy, the big check and the prize money. The feature winner Maverick Sines also received a brand new set of tires. The stipulation was that he had to pick one team in his division to give them to. He chose Graham Brooks #90. This is what it’s all about, building the future of auto racing and building friendships along the way!! Congrats to Maverick and Graham. Huge thank you to Cory and Rick Richie!!
