During my 26 years of teaching, I have worked with a variety of students drawn to art, texture, and color. Furthermore, some of these students wished they could be a part of the artistic vibe by being able to not only see but actually touch a piece of art. In addition, students have shared with me how much creating art relaxes them and allows them to express their feelings. To unwind from my day,
I enjoy creating pieces of art that incorporate an array of colors and textures. I find the combination of color and texture relaxing. At the same time, I love to be able to create something that can be touched as well. There is something about the tactile element that brings the piece to life. A lot of my pieces come about from my love of the ocean, fall and winter seasons, moods and emotions, and my being drawn to the use of color and texture.
