Do you know any 5th-8th grade kids who love science? Are you looking for unique summer activities?

The Kaskaskia College Salem Education Center is offering a one day science class for kids next Tuesday, June 9 from 10am to noon. The topic of the course is Crazy DNA! Students will learn about DNA as they observe their own DNA collected from a cheek swab.

Our summer schedule will take effect on May 30, 2026.

Summer open skate hours will be Saturday nights from 7-9 pm. Skate parties will also be available on Saturdays only throughout the summer.

The rink will be closed on Memorial Day Weekend, July 4, and Labor Day Weekend

Please note a few changes for the summer season:

-We will be closed on Fridays after May 15 for the summer season. Friday night open skate will resume this fall.
-Slushies & hot beverages will not be available during the summer months. Our summer concession menu is available on our website.
-Public Skate Parties will no longer include slushies. As a result, open skate party pricing has been reduced to just $140
-Free slushy game prizes will be replaced with any beverage up to a $2 value

These reduced hours will give our team a much needed break after a busy winter and spring season! Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone at the rink on Saturday nights throughout the summer!
