Lucky Foot Studio

Lucky Foot Studio Model Horse Customizer: sculpting and painting I strip models to base plastic using a v***r hone, which gives a smooth surface. Sculpts require a primer layer.

I do some sculpts, depending on complexity. In painting, I use a mix of airbrushing, pastels, and brush paints to create the finish. About Commissions:

I take commissions on a limited basis. You provide the model if I don't already have it. I will do prep like removing the original finish, sanding off mold marks or other blemishes, removing the maker stamp, and filling in any nicks and dents that

I find. I will also make any commissioned sculptural changes at that time. Once you approve the prep, I will move on to painting. I will not do major overhauls of the sculpt, so it's important to be very clear in your initial consultation about what you want. I can provide a matte or glossy finish. I always gloss the eyes, nostrils, and hooves, so if that is something you do not want in your commission, let me know. Prices:

Prices will vary according to the level of prep work necessary, the extent of the customization, and time required to make it happen. Typically, traditionals start at $150, Classics at $100, and SMs at $50. Expectations

Customs generally take several months to complete. My other job is writing novels (check out my website: www.dianapfrancis.com), and I also teach writing part time. I dedicate as much time as possible to completing commissions as swiftly as possible, while maintaining quality work. Some commissions may be beyond my skill level, and in that case, I will let you know. Payment

I require a 25% deposit. The remaining payment must be made upon completion. Once I've received payment, I'll send the completed model. If at any point the payments are voided or don't arrive within the specified dates, the model becomes my property and will not be shipped you, and I will retain the deposit. I accept PayPal, postal money orders, and cashier's checks at this time. I retain the right to reserve copies of the progress images and final image to reproduce and use in my online portfolio via social media and on my website.

***No repairs, returns or refunds. Once the model leaves my hands, it is the customer's responsibility to care for it properly. These models are works of art and should be treated as such.***

This boy is not perfect, but is a test piece. He'll be done curing in a day or so and then I'll put him up for purchase.

Working on these baby's. Both are semi test pieces just to see how I like the patterning and how I like the color. The red is almost the color I want for an Xmas horse.

Finished this guy. He just has to cure. Too a lot of hours of work. Started with sculpting his mane and tail, then a lot of other prep work, then a layer of airbrush paint. After that, the roaning was done with pencils, hair-by-hair paint, pastels, airbrushing, more pencils and pastels and hair by hairing. Then I worked on his feet, face, and legs. Finally I finished him with a satin finish and glossed his eyes, nostrils, ears, and hooves. He really looks cool in person.

I've been working on these. Still trying to decide how to go forward on them I think. Any thoughts?

I did not get a chance to wish all who celebrate a Merry Christmas, but I'm hoping you had a fabulous with lots of love, laughter, and light. This image is from The Big Hugs shop on Etsy. May you have a happy new year and may this next year bring you more joy than you've ever had before. We'll be heading to California to work on my FIL's house, with cleaning and sorting and so forth. I'm hoping maybe I can get together with some of you down there.

I finished this guy. I haven't been doing a lot of painting of late but trying to do more again. He's very sweet, isn't he? He has some really nice sparkle and shine.

Got this guy started today. I plan for him to be a dapple bay.

Just finished this one. Waiting for gloss to finish curing. It's really prettier than the photos.

How do you like this guy? Pictures aren't great, but he's pretty much done but for glossing the eyes and hooves.

And they are done. Pictures aren't that good, but I'm pretty happy.
