We are SO excited for the Holiday Art + Craft Market this year!! Timed entry tickets are now on sale! Shop from over 250 of the best and brightest and around! Find the best gifts for everyone on your list...plus some goodies for yourself!

In an effort to control the crowds, will be doing timed admission throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday in addition to the usual ticketed Friday Night Pre-Show Party. So everyone attending the event will need a ticket (with the exception of kids 5 and under)! We encourage you to purchase tickets ahead of time as Friday Night always sells out and we expect certain time slots to sell out on Saturday + Sunday. Choose your entry time and show up any time during that window. Once inside the show you may stay and shop as long as you want!

John Van Dreal is the Salem Art Association’s September Artist-in-Residence. John’s residency is taking place in his own studio, which he is opening to visitors on Thursdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. from September 14, September 21, September 28, October 5, October 12, and October 19. John will be exhibiting many of these works at his show in the A.N. Bush Gallery at the Bush Barn Art Center & Annex in January-February 2024.

John is also hosting two artist talks and studio tours on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 3:30-6:00 p.m. Please RSVP on Eventbrite as there are limited tickets for this event.

About String and Shadow! String and Shadow is a performance company based out of Olympia, Washington. Using paper-mache, cardboard, bamboo and cloth (among many other found & recycled materials) String and Shadow creates incredible giant puppets and masks and weaves them into spectacle performances for all ages.

About Ship of Fools! String & Shadow’s 2023 show is called “Ship of Fools: A Giant Puppet Odyssey.” In it, three mimes set sail from the Port of Styx across the mythical boundary waters connecting the world of the living to the underworld. Aboard a mysteriously sentient ship, they encounter a world of beautiful and strange creatures: hermit crabs carrying houses on their backs, a ghostly humpback whale, and much more. Under layers of colorful fabric and dancing cardboard, Ship of Fools deals with themes of loss and acceptance, depicting a wondrous unknown and speaking to the power of friendship and love. It is brought to life by 3 mimes, 3 musicians, and 6 puppeteers.

Hi, friends! I've been quiet on here lately, and I wanted to share why. My precious baby arrived on June 1st! ❤️🥰 It was a high-risk pregnancy followed by an emergency delivery, but all is well!

Ernie & Gray's hours have temporarily shifted while I'm on maternity leave to Friday & Saturday from 11:30am-5:30pm, and Sunday from 12-5pm. 😸😻 Please feel free to send an e-mail to [email protected] if you're unavailable during these times and would like to schedule a visit on a different day.
