The hills of Bell County are about to be alive with the sound of music as the Salado Community Chorus prepares to take the stage for its annual 2026 spring concert. In honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary, the chorus will present a special themed performance, “I Hear America Singing”, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Salado.

This year’s program offers a heartfelt journey through the American songbook featuring selections such as the country-gospel favorite “Daddy Sang Bass,” a moving arrangement of “Amazing Grace” and beloved Broadway classics including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”/“You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

Now in its 32nd year, the Salado Community Chorus continues to thrive under the direction of Dottie Shirley, with accompaniment by pianist Dr. David Albee. What began as a local initiative has grown into a cherished tradition, bringing together singers from across the region. “Our mission is to bring people together,” say chorus leaders. “In this 250th year of our nation, there is no better way to celebrate our shared history than through the music that defines us.”

Admission is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, as seating is limited. Designated parking for the handicapped and those with special needs is located near the front and side entrances off Main St.

The Salado Community Chorus is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations support the ongoing presentation of concerts and community programming. Learn more at www.SaladoChorus.com
