Happy 79th Birthday to Glenn Tipton!

Born on this day in 1947, Tipton is best known as the lead guitarist for Judas Priest.

His razor-sharp riffs and twin-guitar attacks alongside K.K. Downing helped define the sound of heavy metal as we know it, shaping the genre for generations of bands that followed.

Decades later, his influence still runs through the metal scene.

🎸 What's the Judas Priest track that hits hardest for you?

Ferg's has been hosting rock shows longer than you might think.

On Sept. 19, 2019, Puddle of Mudd played this very spot, years before it became the venue you know today.

Fans packed in to hear hits like "Blurry" and "She Hates Me," prior to Ferg's Pavilion having its own designated stage.

🤘 Did you catch Puddle of Mudd that night? Tell us what you remember.

Punk rock took over Ferg's Pavilion on Oct. 2!

Guitars were on fire, drumsticks were flying, and each set moved at full speed.

Billy Batts & The Made Men got the crowd moving early. The Qu**rs kept the catchy hooks coming, and Screeching Weasel brought it home with fan favorites that kept everyone on their feet.

🎬 Did you know?

The film, Almost Famous, is based on director Cameron Crowe's teenage years as a journalist, touring with bands like Led Zeppelin and the Allman Brothers for Rolling Stone.

That real-life experience inspired one of the most iconic scenes in rock movie history, when the whole band breaks into a singalong of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" on the tour bus after a rough night on the road.

It wasn't scripted as a big emotional event, but it became a beloved moment because it captured something genuine rather than staged. The cast wasn't told to perform for drama; it grew out of them actually singing along on set, and that spontaneous, loose energy carried into the scene.

Movies like this stick with us because they capture a truth we already know: music has a way of bringing people together.
