Your energy, personality, humor, kindness, and the way you show up for the people around you bring so much to our community — both inside and outside of the studio.

We love and appreciate you and are so grateful to have you in our lives and as such an important part of the CCSP family.

We hope you feel extra loved and celebrated today!

Bonne fĆŖte, Sylvain! šŸ„³šŸŽ‚

A lot of our clients appreciate that our silks and hammocks don’t smell like feet and old cheese šŸ˜‚

And studio owners, we take pride every time someone tells us our fabrics smell good. It’s the little things. Small details 🩵

So, how do we keep heavily used circus fabrics fresh?

Wash smart:
Lukewarm water, long cycle, minimal detergent. NO fabric softener. NO scent beads. Less is more.

Dry immediately:
Hang them fully open in a cool, dry space. Florida humidity + damp fabric = eau de swamp

Maintain between washes:
We regularly untie and open our fabrics so they can breathe instead of sitting bundled up ion a daisy chain. Between washes, we lightly spray them with 1 part alcohol + 3 parts water to help deodorize. Trade secret for costumes!

And please… skip the Febreze, lavender spray, perfume concoctions, chemicals etc. Your aerial fabrics don’t need a spa treatment, and isn’t good for the tricot, it can effect the bounce and stretch.

Coach’s bonus tip: Encourage deodorant. šŸ˜‚
Sweat, body oils + multiple humans climbing the same fabric every day = gross 🤮

Keep it simple. Keep it clean. Keep your fabrics happy and your clients healthy!

Happy cleaning! šŸ§¼šŸŽŖ

August Splits Challenge

Here’s how it works:
1 minute Left Split
1 minute Right Split
1 minute Center Split
3 minutes total = 1 point

Scale the challenge to your current level.
If flat splits on the floor are easy, work on oversplits.
If oversplits on one block are comfortable, increase the challenge to two blocks, and so on. The goal is to work at your edge.

One quick note: Don’t hold each split for 3 minutes. That still only counts as 1 point!

Instead, it’s much better to complete 1 minute on each split (3 minutes total) and repeat for additional points.

Of course, if you know your body well and want to challenge yourself with 90 seconds or even 2 minutes per split, go for it! Just know it still only counts as 1 point. šŸ¤šŸ˜‰

Track your points all month long and let’s see who can stay the most consistent. Quality over quantity—listen to your body and enjoy the process!

Congratulations to our July Grip Strength Challenge Winners! Adults: Danielle Merriott – 2:11
Youth & Teens: Estelle – 3:25

An incredible effort from everyone who took part!Grip strength is about much more than simply hanging onto a bar. It’s one of the strongest indicators of overall health and physical resilience. Whether you’re an aerialist, gymnast, climber, or simply someone who wants to move and age well, developing your grip has benefits that extend far beyond your hands.

Some of the biggest benefits include:

šŸ‘‰Greater upper body strength – A stronger grip improves pull-ups, rows, deadlifts, rope climbs, and every aerial discipline.

šŸ‘‰Better aerial performance – The longer you can hold on, the more mental energy you can devote to technique, transitions, artistry, and endurance instead of simply fighting fatigue.

šŸ‘‰Improved neuromuscular coordination – Grip training develops the muscles of the hands, wrists, forearms, and nervous system, improving how efficiently they work together.

šŸ‘‰Healthier joints – Stronger hands and forearms help stabilize the wrists, elbows, and shoulders, potentially reducing the risk of overuse injuries.

šŸ‘‰Increased endurance – From hanging on the trapeze to carrying groceries, better grip endurance makes everyday life easier.

šŸ‘‰A marker of overall health – Research consistently shows that grip strength is associated with healthy aging, independence, and long-term health outcomes. While it’s not the only measure of fitness, it remains one of the simplest and most informative indicators of overall physical function.

July Grip Challenge Rules
• Hang from the trapeze bar.
• Once your feet leave the floor, you may not readjust your hands.
• Hold on for as long as possible.
Simple. Brutally honest. An excellent way to measure progress over time.

How long can you hang? šŸ¤”
