Sunset views, waterfront breezes and a full symphony orchestra by the sea 🌊🌞

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Symphony by the Sea at The BayCare Sound, our free waterfront concert celebrating the American spirit through music!

Led by Resident Conductor Chelsea Gallo and featuring vocalist Jenny Kim-Godfrey, the evening brought Copland’s Hoe-down, John Williams favorites from Jaws and Star Wars, America the Beautiful, Skyfall, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and more to the waterfront.

Special thanks to our community partners and everyone who visited the TFO Instrument Petting Zoo before the concert. We loved sharing this evening with you and hope to see you again soon!

This is what happens when amateur musicians from across Tampa Bay sit side-by-side with the pros from The Florida Orchestra: Pure joy.

Our first-ever Play Out Tampa Bay community side-by-side was a hit. From the backstage camaraderie to the final notes onstage with Music Director Michael Francis, these musicians absolutely brought it. And yes … they sounded fantastic.
And the cheering fans! Music really does bring people together in a special way.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this unforgettable night possible. We can’t wait to do it again.

We can’t believe this season is almost over 😭

Here are a few moments from last weekend’s penultimate Masterworks program of the season, which opened with Augusta Holmès’ symphonic poem Irlande, featured our own Concertmaster Jeffrey Multer as soloist in Dvořák’s Violin Concerto, and closed with Brahms’ Symphony No. 4, all led by Music Director Michael Francis.

Thank you to everyone who joined us across Tampa Bay!

Live classical music makes us healthier and feel younger — for real. It's based in science.

That was the message from special guest Dr. Naakesh Dewan, Vice President of Behavioral Health for Florida Blue, at our Inside Brahms' Symphony No. 4. We partnered with Florida Blue in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

And then Michael Francis and TFO musicians made believers of us all.

Ross Holcombe, Harold Van Schaik and Joël Vaïsse are world-class musicians, world-class pranksters, and longtime experts in keeping Music Director Michael Francis on his toes.
