JUST ANNOUNCED 🏴‍☠️✨ Pop hits and pirate ships!

We kick off our 59th season with two live orchestra pop culture experiences: Steve Hackman's Taylor Swift: The Symphony Era on Saturday, Sept. 12, followed the next weekend by Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in concert live to film on Friday, Sept. 18, and Saturday, Sept. 19, all at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. Tickets are on sale now at FloridaOrchestra.org.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for The Music of Studio Ghibli with guest conductor Lawrence Loh and special guest speaker Mana Takahashi ( Mana Takahashi ). It was such a fun night bringing the beloved worlds of these films to life through Joe Hisaishi’s music ✨

Exciting news! The Florida Orchestra is honored to receive a $10,000 grant from The Mockingbird Foundation to expand our Detention Center Strings program.

This support will help us provide additional violin and cello instruction to young people in Hillsborough County juvenile justice facilities, using music to build confidence, foster connection and inspire hope.

One student told us: "Learning the violin proves that I can make people proud and do good things in life." That's the power of music.

We're grateful to the Mockingbird Foundation for investing in these young people and helping us create meaningful opportunities when they need them most.

METROCON is coming this July, but Studio Ghibli fans can celebrate their fandom early ✨
Dress up and join us June 20 at Ruth Eckerd Hall for The Florida Orchestra’s Music of Studio Ghibli, featuring unforgettable music by Joe Hisaishi from My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and more.

We’re excited to support METROCON 2026 as a community partner this summer, bringing anime, gaming, cosplay, Japanese pop culture, artists, special guests and more to Tampa July 31–August 2.

Sunset views, waterfront breezes and a full symphony orchestra by the sea 🌊🌞

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Symphony by the Sea at The BayCare Sound, our free waterfront concert celebrating the American spirit through music!

Led by Resident Conductor Chelsea Gallo and featuring vocalist Jenny Kim-Godfrey, the evening brought Copland’s Hoe-down, John Williams favorites from Jaws and Star Wars, America the Beautiful, Skyfall, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and more to the waterfront.

Special thanks to our community partners and everyone who visited the TFO Instrument Petting Zoo before the concert. We loved sharing this evening with you and hope to see you again soon!
