⭐️ The Jujy 2026 issue of Entertainment & Creative Arts Magazine features acclaimed artist Philomena Marano. Philomena’s art career has included being part of pop artist Robert Indiana’s design team in a special opera project for the Santa Fe Opera’s bicentennial called, “The Mother of Us All.” It was a story about women’s rights written by Gertrude Stein & Virgil Thomson.
Philomena’s most well-known work has been her revitalization project of Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY. She, artist, Richard Eagan, and other colleagues combined their efforts to lift Coney Island up from its declining condition. The stories, photos, newsletters, ephemera, proposals and art are chronicled in a book called, HYSTERICAL CONEY ISLAND: An Art Memoir of the Coney Island Hysterical Society. Philomena has an exhibition called “HISS, BOOM and SQUAT" which will open at The Werk in St. Petersburg, FL on July 3rd. The exhibit will run from July 3 - August 2.
