Across all mediums, Chihuly’s audacious, harmonious palettes affirm his mastery of color. With its complementary hues, "Violet Vibe" Fine Art Print exemplifies this technical mastery: Bright golds lift the abstract form of a Basket off its violet background, while iridescent touches of teal serve as a compelling accent. On Friday, May 22nd, we invite you to join us for a free Gallery Talk with Fresh Squeezed 10 artists Gwen Mehler and Gillian Probert🎨✨

Gwen Mehler’s work highlights nature and focuses on large scale paintings of animals, using bold colors and patterns in the style of a traditional portrait. Her objective is to spotlight the bird species included in the current list of threatened and endangered animals and to grow awareness and empathy for the nature surrounding our home and shared spaces.

Gillian Probert’s carved glass vessels utilize nature motifs to convey deeper messages about human emotion, aiming to reflect significant aspects of the human experience through the imagery. Gillian holds degrees in Visual Arts and Business Management from Eckerd College.

Brilliant Gold Seaform

Dale Chihuly’s Seaforms are an evolution of his Baskets, echoing their asymmetrical, slumping forms. In turn, they are the predecessor of his Persians, with their characteristic ribs that create a fascinating interplay of opacity and translucency.

The 2026 Brilliant Gold Seaform Studio Edition is a bold statement in form, color, and visual texture. Its edges, grazed with a citron lip wrap, rise and dip, emphasizing the piece’s undulating shape. A body wrap results in subtle wisps of red, accentuating the richness of the work’s warm, golden hue. The two nested elements create additional visual interest, resulting in a composition that suggests motion and commands attention.

Blue Pewter Basket

In 1977, Dale Chihuly had a pivotal encounter with a museum collection of Native American baskets. Struck by the way time and gravity had caused them to slump and warp, he was inspired to, in his words, “capture this grace in glass.” His Baskets embrace—rather than resist—gravity as a tool to create irregular, elegant forms that echo this early inspiration.

In the 2026 Pewter Blue Basket Studio Edition, two Basket forms are positioned off-center, their loose, intersecting body wraps heightening the composition’s visual unsteadiness. Meanwhile, the work’s serene blue and enclosed, nested forms suggest balance and steadiness.

Crystal Persian Studio Edition

Dale Chihuly’s Persians begin with one of the most foundational techniques in glassblowing: plunging molten glass into an optic mold. From there, he uses fire, breath, and centrifugal force to coax the glass into an organic, asymmetrical form that suggests ocean life.

A delicate counterpoint to the bold colors Chihuly is known for, the 2026 Crystal Persian Studio Edition uses clear and translucent white glass, accented with a black lip wrap. This subtle palette invites the viewer to become immersed in the organic form and suspended movement of the piece. A conical inner element echoes the outer flare, giving the entire composition an exuberant but ethereal feel.
