WADA welcomes Ketsy Ruiz to its team! Ketsy has a focus in strategic communications that is much like visual storytelling. She layers narrative, culture, and data into campaigns that actually make people stop scrolling and start caring. For the past 5+ years, she’s been leading marketing and communications for mission-driven organizations where culture, equity, and creativity all live.

BIO:

Luci Westphal is a photographer, filmmaker, interdisciplinary artist, and entrepreneur whose work centers on storytelling, visual and biophilic art, and immersive installations to foster people’s well-being and deepen their connection to the outdoors and to one another.

Over the following dozen years, she produced and directed documentaries, music videos, and web series while living in Brooklyn, Berlin, and eventually Colorado, where her focus shifted to photography.

In 2018, she was drawn to the nature and culture of the St. Pete - Clearwater area and has found her creative happier place in the St. Pete Kenwood Artist Enclave with a studio on the ArtsXchange campus. Her work has been broadcast internationally and exhibited in group and solo exhibits. She has received multiple grants, incl. from the Jerome Hill Foundation, St. Pete Arts Alliance, and Creative Pinellas, among other. She’s the founder of outdoor lifestyle brand Happier Place and memoir video service Recorded Lives.

A seasoned community builder, she is deeply embedded in St. Pete's creative ecosystem - having served on multiple arts committees, organizing artist initiatives, and advocating for the city's creative future.

Last Saturday, we were pleased to welcome Mayor Ken Welch to the ArtsXchange campus. The Mayor toured "The Muse of Music," an exhibition highlighting the work of Pinellas County Schools’ ESE students. Currently, PCS Visual Arts supports over 23,000 students through their disability and gifted programs, and seeing that talent on display was a highlight of the night. PCS Visual Arts

The evening also marked the debut of the Warehouse Arts District documentary preceded by remarks by the Mayor, Mark Aeling, and Markus Gottschlich. The audience also had an opportunity to engage in a Q&A with the creators, Michael Flanagan and Amanda Henderson.

Thank you to the artists, families, teachers, and filmmakers who contributed to this impactful Second Saturday ArtWalk.
