I figured out my garage screen print process sans emulsion/UV box purely out of spite to PROVE that I could do it. Now I can actually enjoy the process while crafting up some apparel goods for . If at first you don’t succeed, scream scream scream, and try again.

Ooooooooooh look at HER! Cyanotype, a process has been teaching me lately, is a finicky collaboration between science and nature. There’s a chemistry element in mixing the solution properly along with oxidization and water interaction and there’s a natural element to the process involving utilization of UV light, I.e. the Sun, along with live botanicals to produce this: A unique piece of wearable art made by woman and nature together. Dang y’all. It’s magic! @ Saint Petersburg, Florida

Here’s the unfiltered mess on the other side of art making. Here’s the first tries, the ruined pieces, the smudgy lines, the hurdles you didn’t foresee, the backache from doing this on your bedroom floor because table space is rare, here’s the picking cat hair out of paint, to chasing the dog out of the room so she doesn’t knock over the ink in a red solo cup AGAIN, the frustration and rage and finally a step forward. Here’s the process behind the work. And here’s to doing it every day. 🖤

My brother was a very goofy man with an extensive collection of weird tattoos. His “HeisenBeaker” was one of his favorites as he would growl out “I am the one who meeps” in that pebbles-in-a-coffee-grinder voice. While in the middle of other projects I took a moment to take the art of his tattoo and convert it into a vinyl decal for my car to honor his silly ass.

Being back to work after a month of hiding at home is strange. Especially when you work within an industry that is focused on creating experiences for crowds of guests. Things aren’t good or bad right now. They are just New. So let’s get to work! (And clean this gun because holy hell, what happened?!)

The start of a pair of custom painted shoes. The films they produce absolutely blow my mind in their design and detailing. I can’t watch them with friends because I pause the films every few moments to shout “Somebody MADE that!”

What mediums are y’all using these days?
In between shoe projects and home improvements, I like to keep it goosey and do some watercolor sketching. turned me on to Dr. Phil Martin’s inks a while back and their Black Star has become a staple. I love a Prismacolor detail pen and this cheap watercolor set I picked up amazon. Happy Quarentimes!
