Introducing Katherine Yacko to The Off-Central! Her first time on our stage where she'll be playing Norman 🐦

Katherine (Norman) is chirping with joy to make her Off-Central/St. Pete debut by sharing this delightful piece alongside the absolute best feathered friend! She’s had the honor of working with the iconic Roxanne Fay several times since her move to Tampa in the summer of 2022 including Jobsite productions of Hamlet (Rosencrantz), Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead (same), Twelfth Night(Malvolio), Poirot Returns! (Stageworks Theatre), and it culminated with Directing Roxanne’s brilliant one-woman show Thrice to Mine about the historical Lady Macbeth. Besides additional shows with Jobsite (LIZZIE, Rocky Horror Show, Macbeth), she’s also worked with ThinkTank Theatre, Lab Theater Project, & the Straz Center across the Bay, as well as with 15 regional theaters coast-to-coast & 3ish Off & Off-off Broadway theaters from her time in NYC. Katherine gives an aviary of thanks to Ami, Viv, Rox (Bird/Girl-Power team!) & the Off-Central dream team for being so welcoming & supportive.

Roxanne Fay returns to the Off-Central stage as Nigel 🐦

Roxanne is an actor, playwright, and director. As an actor, Roxanne was honored with the 2022 Berkie Award by the Berkshire Theatre Critics’ Association for her portrayal of Mary Tyrone in the Bridge Street Theatre production of Long Day’s Journey Into Night (New York). Also in 2022, she joined the summer season at the Prague Shakespeare Company in the Czech Republic. In Florida, Roxanne was part of the original cast of OZ for freeFall Theatre. Roles there include Nurse Ratched (One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest) and Emma Brookner (The Normal Heart). At Jobsite Theater (Tampa): The Beauty Queen Of Leenane, Hamlet, Doubt, HIR, The Tempest, Twelfth Night, As You Like It, and Much Ado About Nothing, and her original work, Thrice to Mine. As playwright, Roxanne was named a 2016 Hawthornden Writers’ Fellow (in residence, Hawthornden Castle, Scotland) and was twice awarded the Creative Pinellas Professional Artist Grant. Her play, Thrice To Mine, was created at Hawthornden and premiered in 2019 at Bridge Street Theatre (New York). Roxanne has created work for the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, including her first film, Breton And The Muse: A Midnight In Paris, a focal point of the Dali’s acclaimed exhibition coordinated with Le Centre Pompidou (Paris). Book versions of her works, Thrice to Mine and Upon This Rock: The Magdalene Speaks are available on Amazon. "This show is for Scott, who taught me so much about how to live."

Join us, and the writer of Love Bird K.T. Peterson, after the 5PM showing for a playwright talk back!

K.T. has dedicated her life to the theatre, music, and performance. A graduate of Iowa Playwrights Workshop, Towson University, and Indiana University, she loves to be around people who are refining their voices and trying new and scary things. As an adjunct, she teaches playwriting, acting, applied theatre, directing, and rhetoric. As a performer, she currently focuses on new play and musical development.

“This play made me feel full of possibilities. It's a tender, fantastical, love song of hope. The script has delicately crafted a safety net for the two actors to explore true surprise and joy. You will marvel at its intricate waltz and you will laugh. You will laugh a lot. It's a rare night in the theater where you feel so at ease to be taken on a ride of tenderness. The play delivers.”
