Serious Soul

“Doc is a mentor to Three and one of my biggest inspirations, we respect the hell out of him,” Busto told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. “Honestly, we never imagined it would take this long to bring him back.”

A godfather of the West coast rave scene, Martin has been playing house music since its inception in the mid-’80s.

Up next, the Hallucienda x Serious Soul 2026 residency continues on Saturday, October 17th at The Nest in St Pete with Doc Martin from Los Angeles. He's a pioneer of the US rave scene and the DJ at the heart of its beginnings on the West Coast. Doc is also one of the first U.S. DJs to build an international touring career, and more than three decades later, he's still traveling the world and playing at the highest level.

What we’ve always admired most about Doc is that he's stayed true to himself and his sound throughout it all. It's been 12 years since Doc last played for Serious Soul. Honestly, we never imagined it would take this long to bring him back.

Joining him will be 3 local house hustlers including resident og Brian Busto along with St. Pete’s Dreezz & Slick Vizion so make sure you arrive early, find your spot and be ready to boogie.

Please mark your calendars for what promises to be a very special night at The Nest.

Artist Spotlight: Violuna

Originally from Canada and now based in St. Petersburg, Florida, Violuna has become a staple in our local scene as a DJ who blends progressive and melodic house sounds with the violin.

For her first Serious Soul show, she’ll be stepping away from the violin to focus purely on her DJ craft, playing a b2b set with her good friend Zakat. This marks their first b2b performance as they warm up the floor for Busto and Oona.
