Wrapped up a great project with USF and . Three new murals— one in each campus library. It’s fascinating how much libraries have changed to be more digitally focused and how the art celebrating these spaces must shift to capture tech elements.

Many thanks to and the teams at & .tampa for advocating for more art! And thank you to Anthony and for the great work.

SHINE ST. PETERSBURG MURAL FESTIVAL: TENTH ANNIVERSARY BOOK
A Decade of Illuminating the Power of Art In Public Spaces

After more than two years of planning, designing, writing and editing, the SHINE book is now available.

✨✨✨

As we approached the 10th anniversary of in 2024, it felt increasingly important to archive the work created during the first ten years. SHINE is responsible for producing nearly 200 murals in St. Pete, which is noteworthy and impressive in its own right. But behind the physical output of SHINE, were the hundreds of people that contributed to its success— from the local, national and international artists, to the property owners, to city staff, St. Petersburg Arts Alliance staff, to countless donors, to the photographers and videographers, to the dedicated volunteers that did everything from measuring walls to airport runs to curating events to running lunches— SHINE is a testament to what is possible when a diverse group of people share a unified vision for excellence, creativity, hospitality and culture.

I am incredibly proud of SHINE and will remain endlessly humbled to have had the opportunity to play a role in its success. I hope you grab a copy of the book and find it a meaningful archive of one of St. Pete’s best features.

My deepest gratitude to everyone involved in producing this book, most especially Pegie Stark, my battle-worn partner in design. Cheers to your patience, persistence and humor.

Additionally, every work of art contained within these pages wouldn’t have been possible without the original creative crew responsible for birthing SHINE. These mentors turned friends are the real heroes: & John Collins. I had the time of my life making history and making magic with you ✨

For a list of retail outlets carrying the book, check the comments.

Thank you Bill DeYoung and St Pete Catalyst

We’re asking thought leaders, business people and creatives to talk about the upcoming new year and give us catalyzing ideas for making St. Pete a better place to live. What should our city look like? What are their hopes, their plans, their problem-solving ideas? This is Catalyze 2026. The contra...

We had a blast on yesterday’s Beyond the Walls Tour: part mural tour, part spray paint class! I led the group on a mural tour through St. Pete to see several murals and to specifically see murals made with aerosol before heading to Overspray in Gulfport where trolley guests were able to create their own spay painted mural with help from John Vitale and .

We are fortunate to have works of art by so many skilled artists, highly proficient with a can. The tour included murals by and several others.

Looking forward to more of these tours!

It was such an honor to be nominated for a Good Burger Award for the 2025 Arts & Culture Creators category! Many thanks to everyone that voted and beyond that, my deepest gratitude to everyone that has supported, hired, recommended or referred No Good Deeds throughout my first year of business. It means more than you know.

I care deeply about the arts in St. Petersburg and I am grateful everyday to have the privilege of doing the work I do— supporting artists, advocating for the arts, elevating St. Petersburg and helping make this city a place we are all proud to call home.

Thank you to the St Petersburg Chamber and St. Pete Athletic for a great event! And congratulations to Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, Florida for taking home the win!

As we enter into a season of giving, please consider supporting this upcoming project with the incredible ! You may remember Marina from 2022 or from the recent Outside In: New Murals Inspired by Dali at the . She has selected St. Petersburg as one of 5 global locations for her debut film, Viejas Glorias (Glorious Old Women). Directed by an Emmy Award winning film maker, the documentary aims to celebrate seniors by challenging our notions of aging, beauty, and the privilege of growing old in challenging times.

With St. Petersburg’s emphasis on the arts and its history as “God’s waiting room,” the project will kick off here in partnership with residents of the historic Princess Martha, an active independent senior living facility downtown. Residents are invited to share their stories through filmed interviews and then participate in creating a mural by the pool deck. The documentary will later be screened here locally and globally in film festivals around the world.

With many senior residents on restricted incomes, we are seeking the community’s support in bringing this project to life.
The one-of-a-kind is also a partner on this project to ensure all donations are tax deductible. The Museum’s mission closely aligns with Marina’s project and we are grateful for their support as nonprofit fiscal sponsor.

To make a donation and for more information about sponsorship levels and benefits, visit the link below. Supporters at every level will be invited to the film screening. The project will commence in 2026 as soon as funds are secured.

In addition to being project manager, I made a donation in honor of my late Grandma Deanna who embodied the humorous, vivacious, complex, and wise women I know this project will celebrate.

Exploring Wild Florida 🐊🦝🌳🌿

As part of ’s visit to St. Pete, we’ve had the opportunity to experience some amazing Florida adventures. We paddled the marsh lands of Weeki Wachee and learned more about the great work the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation is doing across the state. And we swam with the manatees in Crystal River.

It’s so important to protect, connect and cherish these wild spaces throughout our state.
