If it does not sell on here it will be hung locally in our neighborhood of Historic Old Northeast, in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida.
This painting was more an experiment if I could even do realism. I have also been working with larger canvases recently because I would like to progress to a mural at some point. 🤘🏽
For someone who picked this up a year ago I could not be happier with what I have completed so far, now if only I would take a class..

I dont always post everything I paint because sometimes its personal.. One night I was experiencing sleep paralysis, stuck in the same nightmare. I just kept walking through this small tunnel with these dark colors surrounding me, I could see the light at the end but no matter how hard I ran I couldn’t get there.. I ended up waking up and painting.
Later a friend came over and looked at the painting I had hidden behind some of my happier work and asked me if I was okay.. He said Ive never seen anyone depict depression so well. I hadn’t realized at the time but that is exactly what I had done.
Needless to say we all struggle with it. For me depression shows in the form of a mask, smile or a joke as if I can laugh it away. Locking myself in my home and telling everyone I am painting just so they will leave me alone.
I did hit rock bottom, I got to 200 pounds, reevaluated the self destructing path I was on. I forced myself to go outside, seeking human interaction I made myself make friends. Forced myself to eat healthy and get back into the gym. I dont think I will ever scrap this painting because of its impact on myself.
