His teacher David had this to say! "Over the last three years, Gino has begun to develop a command of the piano and music theory. He is sharp and can identify things quickly. Recently, we've been working on music transcription, and he is finding another side to his passion. Such a consistent joy to work with!"

His teacher Dan had so much to say about his Star pupil: "Turning 8 years old this year, Joey came to New Moon Studios with a love of Hand Drums, Drum Set and Percussion. Joey's smile and enthusiasm always lights up a room where ever he goes. He loves and plays along to many styles of music...especially at live events. Joey has a special calling which he shares with those around him. Joey is a special person with a unique personality, and lights up any occasion (or lesson) with a special warmth all his own. I am so fortunate to be his teacher and friend...and a big thank you to Jenni and Gary Melchert who share Joey with us every week at New Moon Studios."

In case you did not see this notice yesterday, Todd Sucherman's masterclass is no longer today March 1st. Due to possible inclement weather in Stl and the weather coming in from Kansas City the class has been RESCHEDULED. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. The class is now set for April 28th. There are still some slots open for this awesome opportunity!

Fame: “King of Ragtime” know for “Maple Leaf Rag” and “The Entertainer”
STL Connection: Lived in Saint Louis as an adult from 1901-1907.

Miles Davis
Fame: The Guardian described him as “a pioneer of 20th-century music, leading many of the key developments in the world of jazz.”
STL Connection: Raised in East Saint Louis. Attended East Saint Louis Lincoln High School.

Fontella Bass
Fame: Best known for her 1965 number 1 R&B hit “Rescue Me”
STL Connection: Born in Saint Louis.

Tina Turner
