The St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime instructor Jerry Thomas on August 1.

An award-winning impressionist artist, illustrator, author and educator, Jerry devoted more than 50 years to the arts. His work was featured in more than 110 personal exhibitions, represented in collections across five continents and even presented before Pope John Paul II at the Vatican. He was also honored as Artist Laureate of the Year by the Saint Louis Watercolor Society and served as president of the St. Louis Artists’ Guild.

Jerry generously shared his extraordinary talent and knowledge with our students and the greater St. Louis arts community. We are grateful for the many years he spent inspiring artists at the Cultural Arts Centre. His creativity, dedication and influence will live on through his work and the countless students whose lives he touched.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jerry’s family, friends, students and fellow artists.

The Cultural Arts Centre offers classical fencing classes year-round through Baited Blades. Registration for fall classes opens:

• Saturday, Aug. 1, for Rec-Plex members
• Monday, Aug. 3, for the general public

Looking for a unique setting for your next special event? The St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre offers a charming backdrop surrounded by rotating art exhibits!

Host your:

• Birthday party
• Banquet or shower
• Rehearsal dinner or reception
• Recital or performance
• Meeting or special gathering

Spaces can accommodate groups of 20 to 250 people, while the Performing Arts Theatre seats up to 300. One-room rentals start at just $45 per hour, and banquet packages are also available.
