📣 OPEN CALL: Afrocentric Eclectic — In the Flesh
🗓 Exhibition Dates: June 1–30, 2026
📍 Curated by Rajine the Queen Artistry
🕛 Deadline: April 15, 2026 at 12PM CST
🔓 Open for submissions: February 16
What does it mean to show up in the flesh?
In the Flesh is an invitation to explore embodiment, presence, and identity through the layered experiences of Blackness. This exhibition centers the body as archive — carrying memory, power, vulnerability, resistance, pleasure, ritual, and celebration.
We are seeking work that engages the body unapologetically — in its textures, movements, scars, sensuality, contradictions, and sacredness.
We welcome submissions in:
Painting • Sculpture • Photography • Mixed Media • Digital Art • Video/Film • Installation • Performance (proposal or documentation required)
This open call is for BIPOC artists exploring Afrocentric and eclectic expressions of Black diasporic identity — historical, contemporary, seen, unseen, intimate, political.
✨ Themes include:
– Multiplicity of Black bodies, genders & expressions
– Intimacy & collective presence
– Health, disability & visibility
– Ancestral memory & future vision
– Ritual, movement & sensory experience
The body remembers.
The body resists.
The body celebrates.
Submit your work. Step forward. Be seen — in the flesh.
