Engagement photos, but make it a whole experience. 🥂

Cassidy + Connor understood the assignment. A little dressed up, a few cocktails, their pup, and an evening that felt more like a date than a photoshoot.

The beauty of a session like this is in the balance. Editorial, a little spontaneous, and entirely their own. Nothing overly staged, nothing left to chance.

You are not supposed to know how to look good in wedding photos.

That’s my job.

You don’t need to practice poses, memorize where to put your hands, or spend your wedding day wondering whether you’re doing it “right.”

I’ll find the light. I’ll notice the details. I’ll give you direction when you need it and create movement when a photograph needs something more.

And then I’ll stop directing.

Because some of the photographs you’ll love most happen when you’ve completely forgotten about me.

The laugh you didn’t plan. The look across the room. Your people being exactly who they are. The moment you didn’t even realize I photographed.

I want your wedding photographs to feel intentional without feeling orchestrated — and beautiful without losing what was real.

Artful direction. Genuine moments.

There's a moment in every session where the posing stops and the real thing takes over — and that's the moment I chase.
This one happened faster than I expected. A Minneapolis engagement session that started with a few simple prompts, and a few minutes in, they forgot I was there. A hand reaching for a hand. A laugh at nothing in particular. The kind of ease that can't be directed, only invited.
That's the whole philosophy behind how I shoot editorial, documentary-style wedding photography in the Twin Cities: get you comfortable enough that the "session" disappears, and what's left is just you two — a little more in love, a little more yourselves, caught in the kind of light that makes it feel like it was always meant to be photographed.

I found this film camera from the 1980's and couldn't resist trying it to see how the photos would turn out.
After shooting, I sent my film in to Mpix and once it arrived at their lab I got the results back in 1-day! 🎉🎉
I seriously thought I ruined the film because the manual film winding was very difficult to get used to and I had to open the case a few times 🫣 I was so nervous but mailed it in with fingers crossed 🤞
I looked at the digital scans and I can't believe how well the camera captures the vivid colors of yellow and red. It makes a huge difference who you send your film to and Mpix is my go to!

Hey Guys! So nice to meet you, I'm Jessica, a wedding photographer who is obsessed with documenting couples in love. I am an advocate for your photos as they are your legacy.

A little about me:
I have my bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota's College of Design
I lived in NYC for 5 years doing fashion design which is when my love of photographing people started. I was a stylist for fashion shoots and learned from watching professional photographers.
I've always gravitated towards capturing moments because the memories can be unlocked just by looking at the photo.
I have an energetic golden retriever named Charles whom I spoil with all the cuddles and treats.
Outside of photography I enjoy being active, self-care, gardening, home improvement, quality time with family and friends, and emotional growth.
I thrive in positive environments and have little patience for negativity.
My approach to photography is rooted in validation, empathy and playfulness with the goal of getting incredible photographs.
