CAAM Chinese Dance Theater

CAAM Chinese Dance Theater Non-profit dance academy dedicated to preserving and celebrating Chinese cultural heritage.

Founded in 1992 as a division of the Chinese-American Association of Minnesota (CAAM), CAAM Chinese Dance Theater (CDT) was created to introduce Minnesota audiences to the joys and spectacle of Chinese dance, to build bridges across communities, and to nurture the growth of this art form outside of China. CAAM CDT has attracted the highest caliber of professionally trained teachers and choreograph

ers from China. We are the longest running and most well-known Chinese dance organization in the Midwest. Our dance school welcomes students of all races, experience levels, genders, and ages. Our teachers provide workshops and residencies all over the metro area through school and continuing education programs. You can catch us performing at community, school, or corporate festivals and events year round throughout the Twin Cities. Our annual Chinese New Year production, staged at the O'Shaughnessy Auditorium, is the highlight of Chinese New Year in the metro area. Our activities are made possible, in part, by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, including its Operating Support and Cultural Expressions grants as well as the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, all thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. This activity is also supported, in part, by the City of Saint Paul Cultural Sales Tax Revitalization Program, Chinese American Association of Minnesota as well as other grants and many generous donations and countless hours of numerous volunteers.

On May 31, our Spring Showcase was successfully presented at the EPHS Theater. We are incredibly proud of all our performers for their hard work, dedication, and passion on stage.
From graceful movements to vibrant energy, every performance reflected months of practice and commitment. Thank you to our students, instructors, volunteers, and families for making this event such a memorable celebration of dance and culture.
We are grateful to everyone who joined us and supported our dancers. Congratulations to all the performers on a fantastic show!
