Thank you to Imani Winds for joining the Performance Today team at Minnesota Public Radio's studios in St. Paul for conversation about two recent projects: 'Rise,' the group's latest album, and 'My Ancestors Speak,' a recent collaboration with vocal ensemble Cantus at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts.

The performance, which took place on Sunday, Sept. 13, combined storytelling and song to celebrate the "rich, diverse cultural lineages of both ensembles, exploring deeply rooted connections to identity, tradition and history."
