Congratulations to Shayna, another one of our incredible program graduates. Read Shayna’s interview below to learn a little more about her time in the program!
⭐️Why did you choose the Circus Juventas Professional Program?
Circus Juventas was where my circus journey began, so it feels like home. Growing up in the youth program shaped both my discipline and my love for the art form. After four years of training at San Diego Circus Center and a short stint in a professional production, I wanted a program that would help me grow with purpose. The Pro Program gave me access to world‑class coaching and dedicated training time to build greater strength and technique, with a clearer path toward a professional career.
⭐️What was your favorite part about the program?
The creative development built into the training. The coaches don’t just refine technique — they help you discover your artistic voice. I loved being pushed to explore new qualities, new movement pathways, and new ways of expressing strength and emotion onstage. The environment is supportive, collaborative, and full of coaches who genuinely want to see their students grow.
⭐️What was the most challenging part?
Balancing technical skills with stage presence and artistic range was a real challenge. Aerial Straps and Contortion require intense physical conditioning, but the program also expects you to grow as a storyteller. The coaches gave me room to grow and taught me to show up with intention and positivity, even on the toughest training days.
⭐️What are your goals next?
I want to continue performing professionally, expanding my work in Aerial Straps and Contortion while developing acts that blend strength, fluidity, and storytelling. I hope to join a company that values both technique and narrative; while supporting growth and development as an artist. As always, my goal is to bring joy, presence, and authenticity to any stage.
