I’m humbled and honored that someone as talented and blessed as Se’Anna is apart of our Stoyteller’s Soiree Team!

Se’Anna is a Minneapolis-born Femcee using Conversational RAP (Rhythm And Poetry) as a medium to spread more life, truth, and light in the world. Combining the principles of her artistry with her professional expertise, she currently leads an initiative (“Beyond the Mic”) in the Twin Cities creating restorative experiences through storytelling and fellowship.
A sociologist, restorative educator, bonafide Mic Controller and Minister to Community, she boldly renders Hip Hop her medium of choice for narrative-led systemic change.

✨MEET THE FACILITATORS✨

It is with deep gratitude and adoration that we introduce: Eshay Brantley.

Eshay Brantley (she/her), a multidisciplinary artist. Social justice advocate, teaching artist, and mother. Brantley’s artistic work commenced in a ritual-based performance. She is dedicated to nurturing the narratives of Black folks, Black womanhood, and Black maternal. Over the past ten years, she has worked with Children’s Theater Company, TruArtSpeaks, Minneapolis Community Ed, Park Square Theater, Washburn High School, PBS Twin Cities Public Television, The University of Chicago, Guthrie Theater, Ambiance Theater, Exposed Brick Theatre, Tangible Collective, and Women for Political Change. Brantley served as a Spotlight Education Teaching Artist in Residence at Hennepin Theater Trust in 2022-2023, ECI’s emerging curators fellowship in 2023, and Ife Lab Fellow in 2024. Eshay is committed to the work she does in the Twin Cities arts community and continues to plant seeds for a better future for Black babies.

Ambiance Theatre Company Presents…

“Poems From A Shelter” a one person choreopoem that explores the experience of a Q***r Black Feminine Man living in a men’s shelter.

This new riveting work is written, performed, and self directed by a Brooklyn native, a graduate of the Department of Theatre Arts at SUNY New Paltz, and an MFA graduate of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Gay-Black-feminine and a feminist, Mayers tackles issues that the public has historically ignored. He has been published by the Huffington Post, Arsenal Pulp Press, LAMBDA LITERARY, Chronogram, Sojourner Truth Library, Colorado’s Boulder Weekly, and I Am from Driftwood LGBTQ archive.

Lester Mayers brings his brilliance to Minnesota as one of the Playwrights’ Center 2021-22 Many Voices Fellows. His plays include GAY GUERILLA, Swallow from Both Ends, Sisters'' In A Fountain Filled With Blood, and Smokin'Smokin' No Mo''; The Revelations. Mayers recently completed a musical-poetic-visual archive, Love Lesson's with Lester, available at Somad.NYC. Mayers also received two New York State proclamations and the 2019 visionary award from the oldest Black Women organization in America; The National Advancement Of Colored Women's Club Tri-County chapter.
