OUR 2026 PARADE GRAND MARSHAL! Dick Buyserie!

Growing up in a Rodeo Community Dick Buyserie started volunteering at a young age. At 10 years old he was helping out ushering and as he got older started taking tickets with his dad Art. Dick married Eileen Hiller in 1969 and joined the rodeo membership in 1970. As a new member, Dick volunteered on the maintenance committee with Bill Miller and would help usher and take tickets during the Rodeo. He and Eileen Co-Chaired the Trail Ride Breakfast from 1982 to 2013, when Eileen passed away.

In 1996-1997 Dick and his wife were an integral part of Bulls, Barrels, and Boogie. In 1997 he was elected director over maintenance, carnival, concessions, and the Wild West Art Show. 2007 -2008, he served as president.

Since 2018 he has continued serving in areas like the Rodeo Foundation Board, Souvenirs & Trail Ride Breakfast, alongside his wife Nancy Dale Buyserie.

Dick’s vision has always been to see the rodeo remain strong, doing whatever needs to be done, to make St Paul Rodeo the Nation’s Greatest 4th of July Rodeo!

This past weekend Princess Annika, Princess Evelyn, and I had an amazing time at the Spray Rodeo.

We spent the evenings down by the river, cooling off in the water with our horses, signing autographs in the stands, playing cards at camp, and even trying our luck at fishing (although we came back empty handed, we had lots of fun).

One of the best parts of the weekend was seeing the small town of Spray come alive during rodeo weekend. The streets were packed with people from all over during the parade, and Saturday night’s performance was completely sold out!

Thank you to Queen Cara and the Spray Rodeo Committee for making our first rodeo of the season such a memorable and special one. We are so grateful for the hospitality and memories made along the way.

With thanks,
2026 Queen Morgan Cuff💓

St. Paul Rodeo history throwback 🇺🇸🤠

ProRodeo Hall of Famer and legendary rodeo entertainer Wilbur Plaugher became part of St. Paul Rodeo history with his induction into the St. Paul Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2001.

Now the real question heading into America’s 250th anniversary… can anyone top this level of patriotic style this Fourth of July? 👀

As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026, few places connect Revolutionary War history, patriotism, and Fourth of July tradition quite like St. Paul.

The community is home to the grave of William Cannon, believed to be the only known Revolutionary War veteran buried in the Pacific Northwest. Cannon fought for American independence during the Revolutionary War before eventually traveling west and becoming part of Oregon’s early history, leaving behind a connection between the nation’s founding and the community of St. Paul that still exists today.

Nearly 250 years after the birth of the United States, St. Paul continues to honor and celebrate those enduring American traditions through the St. Paul Rodeo — the Nation’s Greatest Fourth of July Rodeo. For generations, families have gathered in this small town each Independence Day to celebrate community, patriotism, tradition, and the shared history that has helped shape both Oregon and the country itself.

Memorial Day serves as a time to remember and honor the men and women who served and sacrificed throughout our nation’s history, from America’s earliest veterans like William Cannon to every generation that followed.
