Each oyster shell sculpture goes through hours of meticulous work.
Layer by layer, it begins to take its final form.

This particular piece marks a milestone.
It's the third lid Jeff has ever made to pair with the bottom shell, and the first that came out of the kiln without cracking. 🎉

Photos don't quite do them justice. It's only when you see them up close that the textures and character really come to life.

Another chapter for the Lowcountry Oyster Series. 🦪
These pieces are now part of the collection at Paderewski Fine Art & The Sportsman's Gallery, Ltd. in Charleston, SC.
Made from years of studying oyster shell forms on and under the water, then shaped into porcelain at a bigger scale than usual.
It's been great seeing them sit alongside the gallery's fine art and sporting pieces.

Today kicks off Plein Air Easton, one of the largest and most prestigious outdoor painting festivals in the country.
