Our Story

Spirit Lake Casino & Resort is rooted in the history of Spirit Lake Nation. The reservation was established in 1867. In 1996, the Spirit Lake Tribe closed the two existing casinos, investing $7 million in the construction of a new 49,000 sq./ft. casino. Operation of Spirit Lake Casino began on June 1, 1996.

The Resort is now one of the premier gaming destinations in North Dakota and attracts visitors from throughout the Midwest and Canada. Located on the scenic south shores of Devils Lake, on-site amenities include Spirit Lake Marina, Soaring Eagle Smoke & Gift Shop, Hotel, The View steakhouse, Dakotah Buffet, RV park and cabins.

The Spirit Lake community also offers many amenities including Spirit Lake Grocery, Laundromat and Auto Center.
