Announcing the MHS Thespians 2026-2027 Season!
Starting off with "Happy Halloween!", a night of spooky (and silly!) Student-Directed One Act Plays performed on October 31, featuring the following shows:
"And Then There Was One (A Spoof)" Directed by Gavin Luebke. Ten people are brought together by mysterious invitation to a mansion on a tiny, isolated island. Not one of them knows the host, who is nowhere to be found. Still, he has left an ominous recording that bodes evil for the guests. Like the soldiers that inexplicably disappear from the mantel one by one, the guests begin to die one by one. Luckily, Inspector Miles is among the guests, but even he is stymied as to who the murderer could be. As the guests begin to reappear in the final scene, we discover the farcical twist!
"Horror Town" Directed by Helena Bills.
Some might say it’s not a great idea to bring your students to a place with so many escaped murderers, but the long-winded teacher in charge of detention at Craven High School can’t resist giving a captive audience a walking tour. Soon everybody’s running from the creepy campground to the haunted hotel to the shark-infested marina, as familiar faces from horror’s greatest hits begin picking them off one by one in increasingly outrageous ways.
"Haunted by Goats" directed by Gill Axe
The atmosphere hanging over an abandoned house is terrifying...and highly photogenic. Cathy drags along her boyfriend and sister to take pictures of the creepy house. While exploring, they encounter an odd woman who tells them something very strange…that the house is haunted––by goats. Cathy keeps clicking, John wants to leave and Cathy's sister just wants a date with John. Looming over all of them is one very absurd question: Is the house really Haunted By Goats?
From March 18-20 we will present four performances of our Spring Musical, Rodger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella (Broadway Version)!
Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella was twice remade for television, first in 1965 for Lesley Ann Warren and again in 1997, featuring Brandy and Whitney Houston. The original Broadway production of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella opened in 2013 starring Laura Osnes.
Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Broadway Version) is the new Broadway adaptation of the classic musical. This contemporary take on the classic tale features Rodgers & Hammerstein's most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It's Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” alongside an up-to-date, hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane with new characters and elements added in to the beloved, classic Cinderella story.
