The 2026 Youth Safety Camp was held last Friday, Aug. 7, at the Recreation Outdoor Center!

This is a collaborative program with the St. Louis Park Parks and Recreation, Police and Fire Departments that is held every other summer. 56 safety campers ages 6 - 10 learned about important topics throughout the day such as personal safety, fire safety, water safety, bike safety and outdoor safety. They enjoyed speakers from the Hennepin County Water Patrol, Hennepin County EMS services, CornerHouse and Westwood Hills Nature Center. They also got to touch and learn about some important city vehicles in our streets, parks and utilities departments.

We thank all our presenters and AAA Minneapolis for supplying some fun safety giveaways for campers to take home!
