Joseph, just yards from Lake Michigan’s Silver Beach, named one of the top 10 family beaches by Parents magazine. Open all four seasons, you can ride a different carousel figure or chariot every week and fill the year with a new memory each time. Our sea serpent chariot is wheelchair accessible so everyone can ride! Tokens are available for cash or credit card at the admissions desk or for cash from our token machine.

Replicated right down to her iconic shaggy gray fur and signature purple name tag, Millie was modeled after the beloved pet of sponsors Al and Dagne Schoenbach. Whether she’s keeping watch with her gentle "guardian" spirit or going for a spin, Millie is here to prove that dogs really are a kid’s and a carousel rider’s best friend!

Here’s what you need to know before you spin:

Tickets: Available at the Brass Ring Gift Shop from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Mon–Thu).

Height Check: Children must be 42" tall to ride alone.

Rider Info: All riders 12 months and older require a ticket to step onto the Carousel (even if standing next to a child).

🎢 Happy National Roller Coaster Day!

Long before today's thrill rides, Silver Beach Amusement Park was home to some unforgettable coasters. The famous Figure Eight, also known as Chase Through the Clouds, thrilled riders before being replaced in 1923 by the Velvet Coaster, later renamed The Comet.

With 2,000 feet of track and a heart-pounding 46-foot first drop, The Comet quickly became one of Silver Beach's biggest attractions, bringing excitement and unforgettable memories to generations of visitors.

While the coaster is gone, the spirit of Silver Beach lives on at the Silver Beach Carousel. Stop by, take a ride and celebrate the rich history of one of Michigan's most beloved amusement destinations! 🎠✨

Discover one of St. Joseph's most iconic landmarks located just a short walk from the Silver Beach Carousel!

St. Joseph's lighthouse history began in 1832 with construction of a conical stone tower holding lamps and reflectors. In 1907 the two steel structures on the north pier were built to house a more sophisticated lens system. A diaphone fog signal was installed in 1933, which served until Fresnel lens upgrades made it obsolete. In 2016, the "Lighthouse Forever Fund Committee" was formed and successfully raised nearly $2 million in private donations to fully restore the pier range lights and catwalk, which earned a Governor's Award for Historic Preservation.

Enjoy learning about our city's rich maritime heritage during a FREE guided St. Joseph Lighthouse Tour every Saturday from 10 am - 7 pm through Sept. 5. Explore the free first-floor exhibits and then enhance your visit by climbing the historic Inner Light for just $5 to enjoy incredible views of Lake Michigan.
