Imagination Wild Studio is a mobile art studio working on bringing art to groups and organizations in Central MN.

We work with all individuals, but our primary passion is working with children and disabled individuals

Wow! What a week! I spent the day with some amazing young artists at Deafblind Services of MN creating original artworks that will hang in the halls of for visitors to see, touch, and experience.

This week also saw some mass creations by a group of my 4th grade boys, painting pinch pots with kinders, creating clay monsters with 1st graders, and a family fun literacy night that included making mini books and bookmarks in the art room. Boy, am I elated but tired!

This kindergartener is nailing it! We decided to be ornithologists like John Audubon and painted a woodpecker from a video we watched of them. This little artist took it VERY seriously.

My two favorite pieces:
1. I mean, what an amazing portrait of me! Even has my signature pencil in the hair.
2. This guy comes to art and loves to draw but will only draw what he wants and only uses markers. I was finally able to convince him to try oil pastels! Small wins!

Another favorite of our kindergarten ABCs of Art: B is for Blue. We talk about the connection of colors and emotion, learn about blues music, and discuss Picasso’s Blue Period. Listening to their theories is so amazing, but my favorite is that one child thought this painting by Picasso was of a woman who was “heartbroken”. People, we have a future writer/artist/counselor in our mists!

One of my 3rd graders sewed shelf a skirt. I let them go wild and do whatever they wanted. It’s so great to see them dig in!

I’m SO PROUD of all my first graders! These are their 1st day of school self portraits vs how they can draw now. Would you look at these?! Imagine what this type of growth looks like for other subjects!

This is only 1/6 of the broken crayons I inherited when I took over my classroom. I am making some fun mixed crayons for all of my kindergartners to take home with their ABC’s of Art book. I think they’re gonna be pretty stoked.
