"Between You and Me", we can't believe It's our FINAL Final Friday of the summer!

Make the most of the event experience and follow our tips below --

1. COME EARLY! The street closes at 4 pm and, until the concert begins at 7 pm, there's a huge street fair and gallery stroll with over 30 free activities, including art and refreshments at a half-dozen local businesses! Parking is available in the lot behind Whirligig Brewing (between Railroad Street and Pearl Street), in the lot next to the Star Theater, and at the Welcome Center. Art, Food, Music, Culture, & Fun, what could be better? Visit Discover St. Johnsbury's page, or discoverstjohnsbury.com for a full schedule.

2. BRING YOUR CHAIR! Seating is limited (this concert takes place in a parking lot, so lack of seating makes sense) so pack a chair in your car to grab for the concert after you're done taking part in all of the fun street fair activities!

3. BRING YOUR CASH! The concert and events on the street are free, but you'll still want your wallet for the food and drink vendors. Not all of vendors accept credit cards, so cash is key!

4. VISIT US FOR FREE POPCORN! Need I say more? We'll be set up at the table with the Catamount Arts tablecloth (can't miss us) giving away free popcorn, so come by, say "hi", and see how you can snag yourself a free tote bag!

5. NO OFF-SITE ALCOHOL! Off-site alcohol can cause us to lose our liquor license, and no one wants that! Support local, and buy your alcohol from the St. Johnsbury Distillery in the b**r garden!

6. RAIN OR SHINE! That’s right, we said it. This event is rain or shine!

Catamount Arts is pleased to announce a new exhibition in its Fried Family and Rankin Galleries. Bread & Puppet Press presents “We Who Are Not Dead Yet,” an installation of protest prints that link the anguish of Renaissance painter Mattias Grünewald’s Isenheim Altarpiece (1512-1516) to the violence of empire. The exhibition will be featured during a Gallery Reception, free and open to all, on Saturday, August 29th @ 5:30 pm.

At the exhibition’s center are the Isenheim Studies, 64 masonite prints carved, in 1962, by Peter Schumann, cofounder of Bread & Puppet. Echoing themes of bodily pain and collective grief, the work is reframed for the age of drone warfare. Hanging alongside archival anti-war banners from the 1960s, vertical banners of red, green, and black poppies, printed in 2025 for the Bread & Puppet circus, symbolize mourning and solidarity with Palestine.

Schumann and his wife Elka founded Bread & Puppet in New York City in the early 1960s, revolutionizing anti-war protests with enormous papier mâché puppet pageants in public streets. In the 1970s, Bread & Puppet moved to its current home on a 250-acre Vermont farm where their epic anti-war puppetry, pageantry, and spectacle continue today.

In addition to the current gallery exhibition by the Bread & Puppet Press, Catamount Arts has scheduled two screenings of “An Artist Responds,” a documentary by director Robbie Leppzer offering an intimate window on Peter Schumann’s life, art, and relentless faith in human creativity as a tool of resistance. “An Artist Responds,” will screen at 4pm and 7pm, on Saturday, August 29th, with an open reception between screenings at 5:30 pm.

Today we join music lovers across the globe in mourning the loss of country music legend, Dolly Parton. A larger-than-life figure in American culture, Dolly nevertheless felt like a close friend to many—a familiar presence whose warmth, humor, and humanity shone through in every strum of her guitar and every heartfelt melody. Her generosity with important social and environmental issues helped make the world a better place, and as a source of joy and belonging to millions, she raised generations of artists and audiences.

Here's to you, Dolly, may you rest in peace ❤️

Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury: Jon Hayes and the Company
Kalamazoo-based songwriter Jon Hayes, an ascendant star in Michigan’s indie music scene, invariably draws comparisons to John Mayer, Bon Iver, and NEEDTOBREATHE. From basement recordings and house concerts to studio sessions, live projects, and multi-city tours, Jon Hayes & the Company captivate fans with soulful vocals, engaging storytelling, and an intimate, startling musicality. Jon Hayes & the Company’s subtle melodies and evocative lyrics linger in the mind long after the lights come up.

On Friday, August 28th, Final Friday festivities begin at 5pm, when downtown Railroad Street closes to vehicular traffic to make way for free, family-friendly, all-ages fun. At 7pm, Jon Hayes & the Company will take the stage, wrapping up the last Railroad Street block party of the summer with rousing live music and dancing.

Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series presents: Küf Knotz & Christine Elise will return to Dog Mountain on Sunday, August 30th, for the final show of the 2026 series, featuring unexpectedly infectious harp-infused hip-hop from Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise at 5pm.

The Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Live Music Series, presented by Catamount Arts with support from the Levitt Family Foundation, began in 2017 as a free, family-friendly (and dog-friendly) weekly concert series at Dog Mountain, St. Johnsbury’s beloved 150-acre dog park known for its hiking trails, art gallery, dog chapel, and community events. Catamount Arts has since partnered with Discover St. Johnsbury to include additional Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury concerts at Final Fridays events in June, July, and August.

All Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury concerts are free, accessible, and appropriate for all ages. Dogs are welcome! Food and beverages, including b**r and cocktails, will be available for purchase. Picnics are welcome at Dog Mountain, but please note that no outside alcohol is permitted at either Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury venue. Some nights, everything just lines up.

Yesterday, the rain came down hard before the concert. It came down hard again afterward. But for a little while in between, the weather gave us just enough of a break to gather at Dog Mountain, listen Audrey Drake's and Ladama's amazing live music, and share a pretty remarkable evening together.

A huge thank you to everyone who looked at the forecast and came anyway — and to the musicians, crew, volunteers, and everyone else who made it happen.

There’s something special about hundreds of people choosing to show up, together, even when the skies are telling them otherwise.

And somehow, we stayed dry when it counted.
