Okay, so here I am trying to look put-together with a bedraggled Agatha (who think she’s a cat and is about to vault off the podium) at the photography show of the great Norma I. Quintana. (Only a few more days of the show at the Sonoma Museum of Art!)

Norma is the most effortlessly chic person I know, here shown being demure behind a sassy red collar. ;)

Somehow, 털복숭이 친구들 🐾 My furry friends 🪡 Handmade Pet Embroidery Sunghee managed to turn my mop of a dog into an embroidered work of art!

Agatha never cuddles with me unless we’re in the car, where I think it’s illegal for her to be on my lap. Sometimes I go for rides just for the cuddle.

I’m working with my brother-in-law, another fine art photographer, to be able to provide a series of his much-sought-after crazy powerful wild mustangs photos. Stay tuned.

The Ladies’ Kisses Collection. Named after a cookie.

If you search my site for “Baci di Dama”, you’ll come across a secret recipe for the traditional Italian almond sandwich cookie. They’re delicious, autumnal, romantic, and recall the Italian adventures of heroines - like Lucy Honeychurch getting kissed by George Emerson on the hillside in “A Room with a View.”

I’ve just added these two double-eye Lover’s Eye dishes to today’s collection. (Comment NEW and I’ll DM you a link that goes straight to the collection).

I’d always wondered what these long, narrow serving dishes were for whenever I came across them on my antiquing travels with my mother. “Serving dishes,” she’d say, “most likely for vegetables,” and she was right, but what I’ve recently learned is that some were specifically for celery. There must have been a celery craze in the early 20th century! Perhaps it was something like our arugula and kale crazes….
